Brazil have been without a permanent manager for their national side since Tite resigned following their World Cup quarter-final defeat to Croatia last year in Qatar. Brazilian Football Confederation president Ednaldo Rodrigues claimed on Wednesday that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti would take over the role next summer, with his club contract due to expire in 2024.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will take over as Brazil boss next summer, according to Brazilian Football Confederation president Ednaldo Rodrigues.
The Brazilians, who have won the World Cup five times, expect to have the Real coach in position for the Copa America, which takes place in June 2024.
Until Ancelotti takes over, Fluminense boss Fernando Diniz will take charge of the national side while also performing club duties.
"He will come and make the transition in Brazil for Ancelotti," Rodrigues said.
"His game plan is almost similar to that of the coach that will take over at Copa America, Ancelotti.
"We don't call him an interim coach of the national team."
Brazil’s last permanent boss, Tite, resigned after the team’s World Cup exit in Qatar 2022 in the quarter-finals against Croatia, with caretaker duties overseen by under-20s coach Ramon Menezes.
Ancelotti’s contact with Real expires next summer, but neither the manager nor his current side have commented on the matter.
The 64-year-old Italian has won the Champions League and La Liga amongst other trophies with the club since returning from Everton for a second spell at the Bernabeu.
