Petr Cech was given the nod ahead of Thibaut Courtois by Chelsea as goalkeeping decisions dominated the team news for the Capital One Cup final.
Courtois played in the semi-final win over Liverpool and has been Jose Mourinho’s favoured choice throughout the season, when fully fit.
However, it was Cech who was entrusted with the gloves for the Wembley final against Tottenham.
Mourinho also sprung another surprise as either Kurt Zouma or Gary Cahill was chosen in the holding role in place of the suspended Nemanja Matic.
Ramires was the second deep midfielder while Cesc Fabregas was pushed forward in place pf Oscar.
Tottenham’s big decision was to hand the gloves to Lloris despite deputy Michel Vorm playing every previous match in the competition.
