Frank Lampard made his eagerly-anticipated (well, for Chelsea fans, at least) return to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening - and emotions ran high.

The club's record goalscorer was filmed arriving at the ground and it immediately prompted a frenzy on social media.

Lampard was shown hugging and embracing club officials, stewards and players as he walked to the visitors' dressing room.
