Granada surprise Espanyol

Struggling Granada gave their battle to stay in La Liga a huge boost with a surprise 1-0 win at Espanyol.

On-loan Benfica winger Nolito scored the only goal of the game with a superb curling free-kick from 20 yards eight minutes before half-time.

Hosts Espanyol had been the better side, with Victor Sanchez hitting the woodwork, Christian Stuani missing a sitter and Granada keeper Roberto making a string of fine saves.

The result puts Granada two points clear of the drop zone, while Espanyol sit in mid table.
