The Real Madrid forward announced in 2010 that he had become a father – writing on Facebook that he would have "exclusive guardianship, as agreed with the baby’s mother, who preferred to keep her identity confidential".
Five years on, the identity of Cristiano Jr’s mother remains a secret.
"People speculate I was with this girl or another, or there was a surrogate mother. I have never told anyone and never will," he said.
"When Cristiano is grown up I will tell him what I did, what I felt, everything that went through my mind. Some children never get to know their parents, neither mother nor father. Having a father is enough."

Ronaldo, who has never hidden how important family is to him, regularly uploads pictures to social media featuring his son. Cristiano Jr also accompanied him on stage as he collected his third Ballon d'Or in January.
‘Ronaldo’, a film exploring the Portuguese star's climb to the pinnacle of football, hits cinemas on Monday.
