Ligue 1 round-up: Mahdi Camara hat-trick takes second-placed Brest to win at Strasbourg, Nantes beat Lorient

Mahdi Camara scored a hat-trick as Brest won 3-0 at Strasbourg in Ligue 1 on Saturday night, while Nantes beat Lorient 1-0.

Brest started the day in second and though their three points made a small indent in the title race, leaders Paris-Saint Germain still have a 10-point advantage and a game in hand.

However the victory does move them four clear of Nice, who play their game in hand against Clermont Foot on Sunday.

Brest had midfielder Camara to thank for the victory, with goals on 33 and 40 minutes, and he then converted a penalty on the hour mark to complete his hat-trick.

Strasbourg sit 12th on 25 points, just three points clear of the bottom three.

Earlier in the day, Nantes moved three points clear from the relegation zone with an away win over fellow strugglers Lorient.

The visitors scored the only goal of the game through Cameroon international defender Jean-Charles Castelletto, who followed home at the back post to convert a cross four minutes into the second half.

The win sees Nantes move on 25 points, in 12th place, while Lorient are 16th on 22.
