Gervinho in for medical

The Ivory Coast international announced last week that he would be joining the Gunners and he is in London to put the finishing touches to the transfer.

He is expected to sign for Arsenal in a transfer worth in the region of £11.2 million to become the club's first senior signing of the summer.

Teenagers Carl Jenkinson, from Charlton, and Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin, both from Barcelona, have signed for the Gunners already.

Gervinho played a prominent role in Lille's Double success last season, scoring 14 goals and claiming 10 assists in Ligue 1.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Chelsea have made an approach for Samir Nasri.

The France international is refusing to sign a new contract and has also attracted offers from Manchester United and Manchester City, with some reports on Wednesday morning suggesting a deal to Eastlands was all but done.
