Jonathan David scores as Lille defeat Nantes, Monaco go top of Ligue 1 with win over Strasbourg

Lille striker Jonathan David scored as 10-man Lille defeated Nantes 2-0 for their first win of the season, while Monaco went top with a 3-0 win over Strasbourg, while Brest defeated Le Havre to secure second spot in the table. Nice drew with Lorient, and Reims defeated Clermont Foot. Lens drew 1-1 with Rennes in the last remaining game to be played on Sunday.

Jonathan David scored as 10-man Lille defeated Nantes 2-0 on Sunday in Ligue 1, while Monaco went top of the table with a win against Strasbourg.
David, linked with a move to Tottenham as a replacement for Harry Kane, scored on 66 minutes to put the home side ahead.
Their task was made more difficult when Alexsandro was sent off 12 minutes later, but Adam Ounas added a second four minutes into added time.
Victory maintained Lille's unbeaten start to the season and they are in fifth spot, while Nantes are 16th with no points so far.
Monaco maintained their perfect start to the season when they defeated Strasbourg 3-0 at home.
Former Liverpool forward Takumi Minamino scored twice in the first half, before Wissam Ben Yedder made it three just before the hour mark.
Strasbourg finished the weekend in ninth.
Le Havre lost their home match against Brest when Lilian Brassier scored the winner on 56 minutes, just four minutes after Daler Kuzyaev had cancelled out Romain Del Castillo’s first-half opener. The defeat leaves Le Havre in 14th, while Brest are the only club except Monaco with two wins from two, moving them to the second spot in the table.
Lorient earned a point against Nice, with Sirine Doucoure scoring for the home side on 77 minutes after Evan Guessand had netted 13 minutes earlier. Lorient are in 12th, two places below Nice as both teams have drawn their opening two matches.
Reims made up for losing their opening match of the season when they beat Clermont Foot 2-0, with goals coming from Marshall Metsi and Mohamed Daramy.
Clermont sit 17th with no points so far, while Reims are eighth.
In the last match of the weekend, Lens drew 1-1 at home with Rennes. Deiver Machado scored for Lens after just three minutes, before Rennes captain Benjamin Bourigeaud equalised from the spot on 53 minutes.
Rennes are third on four points, with Lens 13th.
