Kylian Mbappe is reported to have made a decision on his future, and it appears that the Frenchman will join Real Madrid next season.
Mbappe, who has been heavily linked with Madrid for a long time, entered the final year of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and was sent to train with the club’s reserve squad after he made his intent to leave clear last summer.
A move did not materialise and he was quickly reintegrated into the squad as the Ligue 1 season began, and since, the forward has scored 20 goals in 19 games in France’s top tier.
Now, according to French journalist Julien Laurens and ESPN, the ongoing transfer saga is over, with Mbappe finally deciding to don the white of Real from next season.
ESPN reported in January that Madrid had offered Mbappe a deal, and this new report claims that the France international is set to announce his decision next week.
The report also revealed that Mbappe had turned down a pay rise on his €72 million annual salary from PSG, and by opting to leave the French champions as a free agent, he will write off an extra €100 million in bonuses.
It is believed that PSG have resigned themselves to the prospect of Mbappe moving on, and the Ligue 1 table-toppers have reportedly identified Rafael Leao as the top candidate to replace the forward on the left wing.
