One win from seven Ligue 1 matches has led to the sacking of Olympique Lyonnais boss Fabio Grosso, having taken over in September. The former Italy full-back succeeded Laurent Blanc after guiding Frosinone to Serie A promotion, but his time in charge has been chaotic, having been left injured by an attack on his team’s bus at Marseille.

Fabio Grosso has been sacked as head coach of Ligue 1’s bottom club Olympique Lyonnais, having only taken on the job in mid-September.
The former Italy defender leaves after achieving just one win in seven Ligue 1 matches in charge, collecting a total of five points since succeeding Laurent Blanc.
Grosso had been appointed following an impressive spell in charge of Frosinone, leading the club to Serie A promotion last season.
But his brief time in France has been eventful.
In October, he was left with serious facial injuries, following an attack on Lyon’s team bus for a game at Marseille, which was subsequently called off.
Grosso led Lyon to their only victory of the season just before the November international break, a 1-0 win away at Rennes.
But a 2-0 defeat at home to Lille has sealed his fate, with the club bottom of the table and five points from safety.
Academy manager Pierre Sage will take temporary charge of the team, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Lens, with Grosso’s backroom staff of Raffaelle Longo, Francesco Vaccariello, Vittorio Carello and Mauro Carretta also departing.
Lyon face Lens away in their next game on Sunday, December 3.
