Many eyes in France may be on the Rugby World Cup, but Paris Saint-Germain drew a big crowd to the Parc des Princes as they returned to Ligue 1 action following the international break with a home game against Nice. Kylian Mbappe was on target for PSG, but the home fans were left stunned as Nice claimed a shock win. Terem Moffi was the star man for Nice.

Nice pulled off a major upset and beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 away from home, with Terem Moffi inspiring their victory over the Ligue 1 champions.
The Nigerian gave Nice a first-half lead against the run of play, with his shot deflected in at the near post after Kylian Mbappe gave the ball away inside his own half.
Mbappe made amends eight minutes later, finishing off a sweeping move with a shot from the edge of the box which was too powerful for the goalkeeper to keep out.
Nice re-took the lead in the second half when Moffi went on an excellent run and crossed for Gaetan Laborde to volley home, and Moffi grabbed his second with a low shot after another probing run to round off a second rapid counter-attack.
PSG had by that point thrown on Randal Kolo Muani and the debutant crossed for Mbappe to score a superb late volley to set up a frantic finish, but Nice held on.
Nice leapfrog PSG in the table and are up to second, on nine points. PSG, in third place, are one point behind.

TALKING POINT - PSG's poor start gets even worse

PSG started the season with back-to-back dour performances and questions over Mbappe's future casting a cloud over the club. Wins in league games three and four looked to have them back on track, but the good work was undone with a disjointed and sloppy performance.

The Parisians were very in defence, particularly Milan Skriniar, and sorely lacking in creativity. Mbappe's second goal came from pretty much the only chance they created in half an hour of play after going 3-1 behind.
It is too soon to start panicking about PSG's title defence. But with their UEFA Champions League campaigning beginning on Tuesday - in a tough group to boot - PSG look a long way off Europe's elite.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Terem Moffi (Nice)

An easy choice. The scorer of two goals and creator of another, Moffi was the difference between the two teams. PSG's defence was justifiably terrified every time he ran at them.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

GOAL! PSG 0-1 NICE (MOFFI) 21' - Nice lead against the run of play! Mbappe gives the ball away in his own half, Nice break and a ricochet falls to Moffi, 12 yards out. His snapshot is deflected and beats a wrongfooted Donnarumma at the near post.
GOAL! PSG 1-1 NICE (MBAPPE) 29' - Hakimi advances down the right flank and cuts the ball back to Mbappe, who shoots side-footed from the edge of the box and draws PSG level! The goalkeeper gets two hands to the ball, and should probably save it, but Mbappe's strike is too powerful.
GOAL! PSG 1-2 NICE (LABORDE) 53' - Nice score on the counter again! Sanson plays a good early ball to find Moffi, who is dragged wide but holds the ball up well before crossing for Laborde to volley home, with Donnarumma in no man's land.
GOAL! PSG 1-3 NICE (MOFFI) 68' - Nice go from one end of the pitch to the other rapidly and double their lead! Moffi plays a one-two with Laborde, then finds room to shoot - despite being marked by Skriniar and Hernandez - and fires low, into the far corner.
GOAL! PSG 2-3 NICE (MBAPPE) 87' - Kolo Muani digs out a cross to Mbappe, who volleys into the ground and the ball loops over Bulka and into the top corner. Game on!
