OUR VIEW
Arsene Wenger has built two great sides while at the helm – the 1998 double winners and the Invincibles. Petr Cech could be the final piece to his third great Arsenal team. This signing could be that big.
He will bring a consistency at the back that Arsenal have missed since the days of David Seaman. Jens Lehamnn was a very good goalkeeper but Cech is world class. World class remains an over-used phrase but Cech is easily in the top five goalkeepers in the world. Furthermore, at 33 he is at his peak.
Arsenal are a team on an upward trajectory and Cech’s arrival confirms that.
