Vela joins Real Sociedad

The 22-year old joined Arsenal from Mexican side Guadalajara in 2005 and has scored just three goals in 29 appearances.

The Mexican, who can play as either a striker or a winger, has seen his chances limited over the past few years and has subsequently been sent out on loan to Salamanca, Osasuna and West Bromwich Albion.

Reports suggested that Arsene Wenger was looking for a permanent deal for Vela but he will again be sent out on loan for yet another season, pending medical tests.

Arsenal have also announced that Pedro Botelho will spend the 2011/12 season on loan with a Liga club with the 21-year-old moving to newly-promoted Rayo Vallecano.

Botelho spent last term at Segunda Division side Cartagena and previously played for Salamanca and Celta Vigo.
