According to caughtoffside.com the Premier League outfit will pay €14m for the capture of the German international, currently out injured, who had been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu over the summer following interest from several German and other European clubs.
However, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti chose to retain the 27-year-old former Stuttgart man after Xabi Alonso’s departure for Bayern Munich left him short of holding midfield players.
Nonetheless, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to link Khedira up with his international teammate Mesut Ozil in the Gunners’ midfield and it appears he may get his wish come the next transfer window.

The source may not be too reputable - previous 'exclusives' from the website include Manchester United signing Fabregas and Vidal - but this long-standing rumour has plenty of credibility. Khedira should leave Madrid but his wage demands may be too much for Arsenal, who have a salary structure they generally keep to. He would be a good signing for Arsenal, but the team's deficiencies up front and at the back seem far more pressing than bringing in yet another midfielder.
