Dick Advocaat has confirmed Sunderland have made him an offer to stay on as head coach.
Advocaat had planned to retire after signing a two-month contract with Sunderland in March but the former Rangers boss, who presided over an upturn in form with 12 points from eight matches in charge to protect his record of never having been relegated, is considering carrying on until next season.
Sky Sports claim that the Dutchman will let the club know by next Thursday.
