Alexander Netherton brings you six talking points from Arsenal's victory over Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley.

Radamel Falcao is back. In England, not to his best

Falcao has suffered several knee serious injuries in his career. Alan Shearer endured a similar run of misfortune, and ended up as a lethal statue, unable to sprint but still capable of scoring 20 a season with a venomous shot and an unmatched experience of where to stand in the Premier League. Falcao has lost his explosive power - it seems it hasn't come back over the summer - the very thing that kept Shearer going in his thirties. With Diego Costa's hamstrings playing up already, Chelsea are taking a risk in expecting him to making him to make a serious contribution to the title challenge.

Eden Hazard is not close to Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is the second best player in the world. With the summer off, and Lionel Messi having a Copa America obligation, there's more than an outside chance that he could dominate La Liga again and re-establish himself as the best player in the world. Eden Hazard remains way off his level, lacking his strength and ruthless finishing. But what he does have is speed, a relentless ability to draw fouls, and as seen earlier in pre-season, flashes of genius. At 24, at the level he's at, it's fair to predict that he will never match Ronaldo's exploits or heights, but if he makes another leap forward in authority, he could drag Chelsea to victory in a similar manner to Ronaldo at Manchester United.

Arsenal fans should keep their cool

Chelsea lost to Arsenal, and that will have cheered up a great many Arsenal fans, who are tired of seeing their side consistently unable to beat Jose Mourinho's men. That they have finally managed it does not mean that they should go overboard. The test for Arsenal is if their team can step up in the league when it matters. Not over a calendar year, but from the first game of the season to the last.

The occasional glimpse of afters is encouraging for the season

At the end of the match Nemanja Matic was fouled, and for 20 to 30 seconds, the two sides came together for some mild peril and milder shoving. After the 2014/15 season, which was curiously bloodless at the top despite Diego Costa and Marouane Fellaini's best efforts, we can be pleased that perhaps Chelsea know that Arsenal are more of a rival to them than they have been over the last decade.

Handshakes are still a thing

By acknowledging the non-handshake between Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger, this sentence is contributing to the problem. The problem can be solved quite simply: grow up, manager children, and show the basic amount of respect to another peer.

Victor Moses is back, but another signing is still needed

Victor Moses does indeed appear to have a spot in the Chelsea squad next year. He can't perform worse than Mohamed Salah and Juan Cuadrado have managed in the last two years, but it's still a weak link in Chelsea's squad. They need another wide player, or they run the risk of Mourinho running his players into the ground again.
