Guardiola’s future is currently the subject of much speculation, with his agent recently stating that “not even I know what Pep’s intentions are” as the Spaniard’s contract at Bayern Munich enters its final nine months.
Reports on Wednesday morning suggested Guardiola would be offered a package worth around £17 million in order to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena, although the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea continue to be linked with the former Barcelona boss.
Fabregas, who worked under Guardiola for a spell at Barcelona, believes his old boss will coach in the Premier League one day – although he does not know when.
“Oh I have absolutely no doubt that Pep will test himself in the Premier League,” Fabregas told Spanish radio station Onda Cero. “I have spoken to him in the past, and I know that he likes it a lot.”
Fabregas has endured a tough start to the season with Chelsea, coming in for some stiff criticism for his performances as the reigning league champions have won just three of their first 12 games.
The 28-year-old believes the physical demands of the competition have played a role.
“This year the physical level of the Premier League is brutal and if you are not right for a game the opposition steamroller you,” he said.
“It is happening to us at the moment. You face a team that last season you practically knew that you would beat and this year it is more difficult.
“I don't think in terms of quality the Premier League is at the level of La Liga but physically it's ahead and right now teams further down the table have improved tactically too and that is helping make for a far more competitive league.”

On the club’s overall form, Fabregas added: “Things are not going well in the league.
“Last season we lost four games in the entire season and this season I have practically lost count, I don't know if it is six or seven defeats. Clearly we are doing something very wrong.
“It gave us a big lift winning in the Champions League the other day and we can still top the group. But in the league we have to start winning now. And I'm not saying to win the Premier because that now is going to be very difficult.
'But to be in the Champions League places, and not just for this season, for the club and for our own sense of pride, but for next season because in the end we all want to play the Champions League. We all want to compete against the best and a club like Chelsea has to be there.”
