Premier League fixtures released: Champions Chelsea begin title defence at home to Swansea City

Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea will begin the defence of their title with the visit of Swansea to Stamford Bridge before travelling to Manchester City in week two.

Chelsea have the best opening day record of any side who have played in more than five Premier League seasons, averaging 2.17 points per match.
The 2014/15 champions have picked up 50 points from their 23 opening fixtures, winning 15 times and losing only three, and will be confident of improving that record against Swansea.

Their trip to title rivals Manchester City in week two will be one of the defining early games of the season and will provide a stern test to Jose Mourinho's new-look squad.
Further highlights from the first-half of the campaign include home games against Arsenal and Liverpool on September 19th and October 31st respectively before trips to Tottenham on November 28th and Manchester United on December 28th.

The Red Devils visit Stamford Bridge for the return fixture on February 6th before Manchester City come to London on April 16th.
The final game of the season is at home to Leicester City on May 15th, when Blues fans will be hoping to see their players lift the Premier League trophy again.
