Manchester City have signed Colombia stiker Marlos Moreno from Atletico Nacional on a five-year deal.
But City fans must wait to catch a glimpse of Pep Guardiola's latest signing in City colours after he was loaned back out to La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna until the end of the season.
“City are one of the best clubs in the world. It will be nice to experience being part of such a big Club. I want to make the most of it," said Moreno, 19, who has already earned seven full caps for his country.
“Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world. I think he likes young players very much and he can improve young players tactically and technically. It will be great to work with him and to be part of a great team.”
Moreno scored his first international goal against Costa Rica at the Copa America Centenario in June.
City have quoted the words of the South American football expert Tim Vickery who declared Moreno "the best young talent on the continent" after the Copa.
"There are no guarantees but not since the likes of Sergio Aguero, Alexis Sanchez and Neymar have I been so enthusiastic about a young player," Vickery is quoted as writing.
"Marlos is an excellent prospect who has already broken into his national team," said Txiki Begiristain, City's Director of Football.
"He's a versatile player, still learning, but we believe he has a fantastic future in the game and with City.
"He makes and scores goals and is an intelligent footballer, we're delighted to have signed him."
Guardiola has already spent around £100m on Ilkay Gundogan, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Nolito since officially taking up the post last month.
