Rickie Lambert's second-half goal cancelled out Mauro Zarate's free kick to give West Brom a 1-1 draw against West Ham.
After an even opening, it was West Brom who had the best chance to take the lead, when Salomon Rondon's angled shot whistled past the post. But it was West Ham who took the lead.
Mauro Zarate's free kick scored with a brilliantly accurate free kick into the top corner, but West Ham failed to add a second with chances for Manuel Lanzini and Victor Moses in the remainder of the half.
In the second half, Carl Jenkinson headed out to Rickie Lambert, whose shot deflected off Winston Reid's arm to beat Adrian. Lambert almost scored with a low free kick which crept through the wall, but Adrian was alive to the threat, and did even better with Rondon's close-range header a minute later.
West Ham almost won it at the death with a Victor Moses volley, but it went just wide of goal, and West Brom held on for a point.

KEY EVENTS

9' - ZARATE SHOT - Moses passes to Lanzini on the edge of the box, he dribbles, jinking inside, and tees up Zarate who fires into the side netting from a tight angle.
13' - RONDON SHOT - Fletcher finds Rondon on the edge of the box, and his shot whistles just wide of the far post, though Adrian probably had it covered.
17' - GOAL! West Ham United 1-0 West Bromwich Albion. Zarate scores with a free-kick - he takes a couple of steps and fires in a shot that curls over the wall, into the top corner, so accurate that Myhill has little chance of reach it.
24' - MYHILL SAVE - Lanzini robs Yacob in midfield, he runs towards goal and shoots early. The shot swirls in the air and flies off Myhill's shin.
29' - ZARATE SHOT - Lanzini runs onto Zarate's pass inside the box, and his curling shot is beaten away by Myhill.
50' - GOAL! West Ham United 1-1 West Brom. Lambert scores - A cross from Fletcher is headed out by Jenkinson. It comes to Lambert, whose shot is possibly going wide, but it strikes Reid's arm and beats Adrian.
60' - ADRIAN SAVE - Lambert's low, curling free kick to the near post, through the wall, is beaten away by Adrian for a corner.
61' - ADRIAN SAVE - Fletcher lifts a cross to the back post, Rondon meets it a yard or so out, but Adrian rushes towards it, Schmeichel-starfish style, and pulls off a block.

KEY STATS

Rickie Lambert scored his first goal against West Ham.
West Brom have lost just one of their last 11 away games in the Premier Leage.

TALKING POINT

Pulis's conservative approach might cost West Brom more than it benefits them. Four central defenders is undoubtedly sturdy, and when West Brom sit back it affords them plenty of protection. But it is vulnerable to the pace of sides like West Ham, and prevents them from making the most of the wings when they need a goal. They were improved in the second half, but nevertheless fortunate that a shot deflected in their favour for the equaliser.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Adrian (West Ham United): His two saves in quick succession on the hour mark kept his side in the game when they were still trying to recover from conceding a surprise equaliser. He stood no chance in saving Lambert's shot after it deflected wildly off Reid.
