Crystal Palace finalised a deal with Liverpool in the early hours of Wednesday morning to bring Mamadou Sakho to Selhurst Park on loan as the transfer window drew to a close.
The former PSG man will move to Palace on a loan deal for the rest of the season, with The Eagles paying a £2 million fee for the 26-year-old.
Though the centre-back made a total of 56 league appearances for Liverpool since his move to the club in 2013, he was ousted from Liverpool's first-team squad after two incidents last year.
After serving a 30 day suspension for testing positive for a banned substance - a ban that Sakho's team argued should never have been on the prohibited list - Sakho was later sent home from the club's pre-season training camp in California, as manager Jurgen Klopp was unhappy with his attitude.
Sakho trained with and played for the club's under-23 side for the first half of the season but had not featured when the transfer window opened as the club wanted to minimise the chances of him getting injured and jeopardising a move.
Sakho joins fellow new-boys Patrick van Aanholt who joined Palace from Sunderland in a £14m deal, and Luka Milivojevic from Olympiacos.
Despite Palace remain two points adrift in the relegation zone despite a 2-0 win against Bournemouth on Tuesday.
