Matteo Darmian is heading back to Italy in January, as multiple reports suggest the Manchester United man will join Inter.
Tuttosport and La Gazzetta dello Sport are among those treating the deal as down to the details.
Darmian is increasingly frustrated at his lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
He risks losing his place in the Italy squad and is heading back to Serie A in January 2017.
It’s expected to be a paid loan with option to buy at the end of the season.
Juventus, Napoli and Milan have also been linked, but Inter seem to be in advanced negotiations with Darmian’s entourage.
OUR VIEW
Darmian has been unable to find his way past Antonio Valencia, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah has been the preferred option at right-back when Mourinho has recently looked for an alternative. Nobody impressed in their time in defence under Louis van Gaal, but Darmian has obviously not impressed Jose Mourinho enough in training or his brief appearances for the first team. As Mourinho and United look to trim the squad of fringe members after years of accumulation, it makes sense to free up room for the necessary improvements that are yet to come.
