Wilshere close to new contract but Ramsey future uncertain

We start with Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger has said that he is confident that Jack Wilshere will sign a new contract. A report from The Mirror says that Wilshere has been offered £90,000 a week, a pay-cut on his existing deal, but there are more incentives and bonuses. Meanwhile the Arsenal boss has admitted that whilst he is hopeful Ramsey will sign there is less of an update because there is more time left on the Welshman's deal.
Paper Round's view: If Arsenal have learnt anything from the past 12 months it is that they have to get their big stars' contracts sorted early. If they let the Ramsey situation drift they are going to be in exactly the same position as they are now in a few months.

Man Utd hope Ibrahimovic returns before end of the month

We now have back-to-back exclusives from The Sun. The first is that Manchester United hope that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be able to return to action by the end of the month. The forward has been missing with a knee injury since Boxing Day and the club have decided to give him as much time as possible to get back to full fitness.
Paper Round's view: Is Ibrahimovic the same player he was a year ago? No. Is he going to have the same impact for the United attack that he had last season? No. Is he going to be a very useful option for the final few months of the season? Absolutely.

Giggs wants Man Utd to coach to join Wales

The second Sun exclusive is that Ryan Giggs wants Tony Strudwick to join his coaching set-up with Wales as Head of Performance. This comes after reports that Giggs wants Paul Scholes and former Manchester United assistant Albert Stuivenberg to join him as well.
Paper Round's view: It's hardly a surprise that Giggs is looking to his United past when it comes to his Wales coaching set-up. Of course it may be rather troubling for the players given how much success the old regime brought them. However a fresh start may be exactly what the squad needs after Chris Coleman's departure.

Mahrez fined two weeks wages

We end in The Telegraph where it is reported that Riyad Mahrez has been fined two weeks wages, or £240,000, as his Leicester strike goes into the second week. Mahrez will not be in the squad to face Manchester City on Saturday and manager Claude Puel couldn't give a clear update on when the winger would return.
Paper Round's view: When does this end? Does Mahrez ever play for Leicester again? How much money will the Foxes get for him in the summer? Will they even let him leave in the summer? Everything's a little uncertain right now...
