Old Trafford favourite Paul Parker is not at all impressed with Jose Mourinho's latest comments about Paul Pogba and his efforts at Manchester United.

Let me think really deeply about what Jose Mourinho has just said about Paul Pogba... what a load of crock!
Mourinho’s comments about Pogba not having “given his best” for United and having a propensity to “lose focus” and “lose concentration” over the course of a season don’t make any sense. If I came out and said what he said, they would question me and I would be criticised everywhere.
Pogba was a very good player for Juventus when Manchester United bought him, and he’s a very good player for France.
As always in life, certain people can get the best out of others because they know how to manage them. Pogba needs managing. I didn’t see any silly hair styles or hair colours when he was playing for France. Maybe in certain ways, United created a monster by allowing him to do it instead of saying ‘no’.

Sir Alex Ferguson knew how to manage individual players. He realised he had to individualise how he managed players. He managed Eric Cantona completely differently to the way he managed the rest of us - and we accepted that. The players nowadays have to be treated as individuals.
Didier Deschamps knows how to manage Pogba. There was a slight issue in France’s first game at the World Cup, but that was sorted out. We saw the performances he got from him thereafter.
He wasn’t trying to be flash, he was doing a job. He was also getting in the box as well. Could he do all of that for United? Yes.

Deschamps knows how to manage players as individuals, including a group of superstars such as Pogba and Kylian Mbappe. He integrates each individual into a team, and he’s won a World Cup with a lot of very different players. Individuals with personality problems; individuals with incredible ability – they all need moulding into a team and Deschamps has done that.
In the right circumstances, he can definitely do what he did for France at the World Cup for United or any team he plays for over the course a season. Not a problem at all. That’s why such a huge fee was paid for him.
United bought him on the back of his consistent performances for Juventus – one of the biggest teams in the world. He has again showed everyone how good he is and, if managed in the right fashion, he can deliver.
The problem is what Pogba is asked to do at United. It’s about being happy in your environment – like he was at Juventus and with France. He had respect from his managers and felt comfortable and appreciated. He clearly respects Deschamps, who had already won a World Cup as a player.
Any ex-pro you speak to, or current pro if they could say privately, would say that it’s about the person you work for. Players perform under certain managers and can’t under others. One bad transfer doesn’t make you a bad player.
I’ve seen the rumours of Juventus wanting to buy Pogba back, but United would be sending the wrong messages if they sell him, particularly as Mourinho was in charge when they bought him. They would be saying that the moment something doesn’t work out they sell and keep spending – top sides don’t do that, they try to work with what they’ve got. They should be trying to get the best out of him, not letting him go. Forget business sense, they have to look at the bigger picture.
Pogba hasn’t improved as a player at United. He should move on because he has outgrown United and has shown that he should maybe be somewhere else doing bigger things.
