The winger picked up the injury in the first half at Stamford Bridge, initially playing on but then hobbling off to be replaced by Pedro.
"It's not an easy one. I think it is a serious injury. It's on his Achilles tendon. I cannot tell you the full extent of it," assistant Gianfranco Zola told reporters after the match.
"I am not sure about it. I think they will have to have an examination, but it is not looking good.”
And though Zola could not comment on the full extent of the injury, Hudson-Odoi tweeted after the match: “Really gutted to end my season with [a] Ruptured Achilles, gotta work hard and try and come back stronger for next season!!!”
The 18-year-old made his England debut last month, starting for his country before he did so for Chelsea in the Premier League.
However, his breakthrough on the international stage led to a run in the Chelsea side.
The draw with Burnley was his fourth straight start in the Premier League, but he will now miss Chelsea’s push to finish in the top four, as well as their bid for Europa League glory.
