Arsenal prepare to sell Ramsey

Arsene Wenger has admitted that Arsenal are now going backwards under his leadership. Wenger is also preparing to sell Aaron Ramsey in the summer transfer window. Ramsey's contract runs out in 2019, and so they are identifying replacements for the 27-year-old Welsh midfielder. However, the club have alighted on Germany manager Jogi Low as the man to take over from Wenger.
Paper Round's view: Ramsey is nowhere near the level of players like Robin van Persie, Alexis Sanchez and Cesc Fabregas, and it is telling that he is now the kind of player with the theoretical ability to hold the club to ransom. Wenger clearly needs replacing, but Low - an international manager by trade - would be making a huge change to take over in the Premier League.

Manchester City target Sessegnon

Manchester City are the latest team to enter the race for Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon. The 17-year-old England youth international can play anywhere on the left flank, and has been monitored by both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United for at least this season. Fulham are expecting bids for the player regardless of whether they gain promotion this season or not.
Paper Round's view: It is not immediately clear where Sessegnon would get his chance at City, given Pep Guardiola's strong squad and recent aversion to playing younger players. Spurs have a track record of developing youth players, especially under Mauricio Pochettino, and Manchester United will need a replacement for Luke Shaw and Ashley Young after the two of them showed their weaknesses over the last few years.

West Brom could face exodus

West Bromwich Albion could suffer the loss of several key players in the summer if they go down to The Championship. Jay Rodriguez, Jonny Evans, Ben Foster and Craig Dawson will all likely leave in order to remain in the Premier League, meaning that West Brom would have to rethink their first team plans in order to get back into the top flight.

Paper Round's view: It is inevitable that West Brom will lose their best players should they be relegated, but this is a double-edged sword. Losing the players would help the necessary reduction in budget which comes with relegation, and it would mean that they would get to cut out some of the players who have been unable to stop such clear under-performance this season.

Everton want Vardy up front

Everton are planning a move for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy. The 31-year-old England international earned a £100,000-a-week deal following his title-winning season with the Foxes, and turned down a move to Arsenal in the same summer. Everton's director of football, Steve Walsh, was the man who brought Vardy to Leicester, and Vardy could expect a raise on his wages.
Paper Round's view: Everton look like they will eventually find themselves as challengers for Europa League football, and Vardy might look on this opportunity as the chance to grab one last, big-money contract before the end of his career, and experience more European football. Few would begrudge him the chance to secure his future financially.
