Arsene Wenger turned down the chance to manage Fulham, according to reports.
The London club sensationally sacked Slavisa Jokanovic on Wednesday, replacing him with former Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri.
In their statement announcing the Italian as their new manager, Fulham admitted billionaire owner Shahid Khan had spoken to a number of potential options "with Ranieri becoming their mutual and obvious choice".
But now it has been revealed former Arsenal boss Wenger was also in the frame for the position, with Fulham sat at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The Frenchman, who was replaced by Unai Emery at the Gunners at the end of last season, declined the chance to take over after promising never to manage another Premier League club, according to the Telegraph.
Wenger is also said to be waiting to be offered one of the top jobs in European football, with Bayern Munich a possible destination.
