The Football Association is poised to investigate after a Tottenham supporter was arrested for throwing a banana skin at Aubameyang on Sunday.
The incident occurred after Aubameyang scored his first goal in Arsenal’s 4-2 win at Emirates Stadium and celebrated near the travelling supporters at the Emirates Stadium.
The supporter was identified on CCTV and arrested – one of seven arrests on the day.
UEFA president Ceferin has made it clear how serious he considers the incident to have been for football.
In addition, Kick It Out has released a statement as part of a message on Twitter.
"Our latest reporting figures show incidents of racism are on the rise and the banana throwing at #NLD [the north London derby] should be seen in that context.
"We condemn this action, welcome the police investigation - the person who did this should be banned from football for life."
The Guardian reports that the FA will investigate the matter.
“Behaviour such as this is completely unacceptable and the supporter in question will be issued with a ban,” a Tottenham spokesman said.
