The United boss was left hugely frustrated after mistakes cost his side the two goals they conceded in the draw on Wednesday.
David De Gea did not manage to deal with Shkodran Mustafi's header, while Marcos Rojo deflected the ball in as he attempted to challenge Alexandre Lacazette.
"We drew 2-2, but we scored four goals," he said. "As always we made mistakes, and we paid for the mistakes.
Even in matches like today, where we played well we always shoot ourselves.
"Our problem is a having performance like this without the mistakes we made... We are always punished."
He told BT Sport after the match that Arsenal were not even attempting to win the game.
"Before 2-1, one team was waiting for a point, one team was increasing the pace and intensity.
"It's a positive sign, but there are things that I cannot get from them, and I cannot say much more than this.
"I prefer just to say that I'm happy with the soul, the commitment the bravery - I'm really happy with that."
