Pep Guardiola believes his team will drop points but has picked out Liverpool's trip to Old Trafford as he looked ahead with Manchester City back top of the table.
City are top of the Premier League table on goal difference but having played a game more than Jurgen Klopp's side after their 2-0 win away at Everton on Wednesday.
With 12 games stil remaining, Guardiola was realistic that his team will likely not pick up maximum points, but also optimistic about their rivals also slipping up.
"We are leaders, but 12 games to play, a lot of games," he said.
I think we are going to drop points, hopefully less than the other teams. I don't think any team will win all 12 games.
“We have (played) one more game than Liverpool and if they win (their game in hand) we are not top.
"But being top is much better. Liverpool has to play this game.
"I don't think too much about that but four or five days ago we could have been seven points behind, it is a lesson to never give up."
Liverpool, who drew at West Ham on Monday, face Bournemouth on Saturday and later have to visit Old Trafford on February 24, a match Guardiola has highlighted.
"I don't know how far we will get, maybe we will die on the road, but we are trying," he said.
Liverpool have to go to Old Trafford.
City next have to take on Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
