Fulham have been relegated to the Championship with five Premier League games remaining after a 4-1 defeat at Watford on Tuesday night.
Following promotion via the play-offs last season, Fulham have won just four league games this season, picking up five draws and suffering 24 defeats.
The latest loss came at Vicarage Road on Tuesday, and though Ryan Babel cancelled out Abdoulaye Doucoure’s opener going into half-time, goals from Will Hughes, Troy Deeney and Kiko Femenia ended Fulham’s stay in the top-tier.
Fulham sacked two managers during the campaign - Slavisa Jokanovic and Claudio Ranieri – with Scott Parker in temporary charge for the rest of the season.
The west London club boast the worst goal difference (-46) in the Premier League, having shipped in 76 goals and scoring 30.
That goal difference is four worse off than Huddersfield, who were consigned to relegation on the weekend after picking up just three wins all season.
With Huddersfield and Fulham’s fate sealed, there is just 18th place to settle as the season draws to a close.
Cardiff currently occupy that position, and though they are five points adrift of Burnley in 17th, Neil Warnock’s side do have a game in hand.
Burnley are on 33 points along with Southampton – who have one game in hand over the Clarets – and Brighton, who have two games in hand.
