City face Europe ban

Almost every back page in the UK is covering the news that Manchester City could be banned from the Champions League for alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play regulations. City were subject of a number of Football Leaks revelations last month, and on Monday, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said 'a concrete case' was being investigated.
The Telegraph say UEFA “believes a potential transfer embargo is not a sufficient punishment for the Premier League champions if an independent inquiry into Financial Fair Play rules against the club in the coming days”.
Paper Round’s view: A story that will no doubt develop further later this week. Football Leaks brought plenty of startling information to light last month – this news is a sign that we’re about to find out what is truth and what is fiction.

Ramsey decision ‘closed’

Unai Emery says Arsenal’s decision to withdraw a contract offer for Aaron Ramsey remains “closed”. The Welshman has impressed for Arsenal recently, and was influential when coming off the bench in Sunday’s north London derby win against Spurs, but Emery says the midfielder “needs to think about his future”, as quoted in the Telegraph.
Paper Round’s view: You can only imagine Emery and Arsenal’s transfer gurus have more tricks up their sleeve if they are happy to let Ramsey go. It seems an odd decision now, but let’s see what happens in January and beyond.

Sane talks ‘going well’

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says talks are “going well” regarding a new contract for Leroy Sane. The German winger is putting his World Cup omission behind him, having enjoyed an upturn in form in recent weeks.
Paper Round’s view: Never mind the reasons for why Sane was supposedly dropped by Germany in the summer, it is great to see the 22-year-old firing on all cylinders once more. His talent cannot be doubted, and at City he will only improve.

Fabregas on the move?

Cesc Fabregas’ agent has met with AC Milan ahead of a possible move in the summer, reports The Sun. The Chelsea midfielder’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and having fallen out of favour under Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge, the Spaniard is looking to leave the Premier League once more.
Paper Round’s view: It just hasn’t quite worked for Fabregas at Chelsea. Just as he convinced Antonio Conte he was worthy of a place, Conte left, but now Sarri is clearly not a fan - made evident by the fact Fabregas has played just 48 minutes of Premier League football this season.
