Chelsea are in talks with PSV to sign England Under-21 international Noni Madueke, according to reports. The winger was the subject of a 30 million euro opening bid from the Stamford Bridge club, but Marcus Thuram of Borussia Monchengladbach is another option being looked at. Chelsea are on the hunt for reinforcements after losing their last three games in a row during a dismal run of form.

'Believe me, we're suffering at the moment' - Potter after 10-man Chelsea lose at Fulham

Chelsea are in talks to sign PSV and England Under-21 striker winger Noni Madueke, although Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram remains on the Blues’ radar.
The Stamford Bridge club have had a busy January transfer window so far, bringing in Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid and signing youth prospects Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile and David Datro Fofana.
Graham Potter’s side are still looking for reinforcements, though, and reports on Saturday claimed that former Tottenham Hotspur youth player Madueke is a target.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Chelsea have made ‘direct contact’ with PSV about the 20-year-old, while Thuram is also being considered.
Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink reported that the first official bid from Chelsea for Madueke came in at 30 million euros.
Madueke, who turns 21 in March, has been a fixture in the PSV first team since making his breakthrough in 2020/21.
He scored nine goals in 32 games across all competitions for the Eredivisie club that season, and followed that up by reaching the same tally last term in 35 matches.
An ankle injury ruled the youngster out of the opening three months of the 2022/23, but he returned in October and has produced two goals in eight appearances so far.
Madueke plays on the right wing for the Dutch club but can also operate as a central striker.
He has been capped by England at from Under-15 to Under-21 level and made one appearance for the Three Lions at the European Under-21 Championship in 2021.
Chelsea are on the hunt for fresh faces after a difficult first half to the season.
They spent heavily last summer, splashing out more than any other club in the transfer window to bring in the likes of Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella, but the investment hasn’t reaped rewards yet.
Manager Thomas Tuchel was sacked in September after a slow start, and his successor Graham Potter has come under pressure recently following a poor run of form.
The Blues were hammered 4-0 by Manchester City last weekend to be eliminated from the FA Cup after also bowing out of the League Cup to the Citizens in November.
Potter’s side have lost six of their last eight games in all competitions, picking up just one win, and Thursday’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham left them 10th in the Premier League standings.
Crystal Palace are up next for Chelsea, with the Eagles visiting Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
