Constantine Hatzidakis to face no further action from FA after Andy Robertson elbow incident

The Football Association (FA) has announced that it will be taking "no further action" after assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis appeared to elbow defender Andy Robertson during half-time of Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Anfield. Hatzidakis says he has apologised to Robertson about the incident and says it was "not his intention" to make contact with the defender.

The FA has announced it will take "no further action" against assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis who appeared to elbow Andy Robertson during Liverpool's 2-2 draw against Arsenal.
When the whistle had blown for half-time with Arsenal 2-1 up, Robertson approached the assistant referee and the incident occurred.
The Liverpool players then surrounded referee Paul Tierney to complain and Robertson was booked for his protests.
Earlier this week the PGMOL confirmed that Hatzidakis had been stood down from officiating matches while under investigation for the incident, but now a conclusion has been reached.
An FA spokesperson said: "We have thoroughly reviewed all of the evidence in relation to the recent incident at Anfield involving the Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson and match official Constantine Hatzidakis, and we will be taking no further action.
"Our comprehensive process involved reviewing detailed statements from Liverpool and PGMOL, as well as multiple angles of video footage, in relation to both the incident and its surrounding circumstances."
In a statement from the PGMOL, Hatzidakis said: “I fully assisted The FA with their investigation and have discussed the matter directly with Andy Robertson during an open and positive conversation.
"It was certainly not my intention to make any contact with Andy as I pulled my arm away from him and for that I have apologised. I look forward to returning to officiating matches."
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane labelled Robertson "a big baby" after Liverpool's draw with the Premier League leaders.
He told Sky Sports: "Does he grab the linesman first? I’m not sure, but Robertson is then complaining.
"He should be more worried about his defending. Do you know what he is, that Robertson? I’ve watched him a number of times, he is a big baby."
