Marc Guehi faces a race to be fit for Euro 2024 with the Crystal Palace and England defender expected to miss up to eight weeks of action after having knee surgery. He suffered the injury in a Premier League match against Brighton and despite the initial scan suggesting just a few weeks on the sidelines, it was decided treatment should take place to avoid further problems in the future.

Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi will be out for up to eight weeks after undergoing minor knee surgery.
The centre-back suffered the injury less than half an hour into his club’s Premier League clash with Brighton on February 3 - which Palace went on to lose 4-1.
It was initially thought Guehi would only be out for two to three weeks, but the decision was made for an operation to take place.
Guehi’s delayed return to action means he could face a tougher challenge to make it into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.
He will miss the March international break when the Three Lions take on Brazil and Belgium in friendlies at Wembley.
Guehi has won nine England caps since making his debut against Switzerland in March 2022.

However, Guehi does intend to be fit to return for the last few games of the Premier League season and prove he is ready to represent his country in Germany in the summer.
In a difficult season, Guehi has been one of Palace’s key players, so news of his extended absence will come as a blow to new manager Oliver Glasner.
Glasner began his Selhurst Park reign with a 3-0 win against Burnley and they return to action with a trip to Tottenham on March 2.
