Manchester City and Arsenal battled it out for the Premier League title last season and it was their two star players that were honoured at the PFA’s 50th anniversary awards ceremony. Erling Haaland’s record-breaking season earned him Players’ Player of the Year, while Bukayo Saka was named Young Player of the Year. Harry Kane and Kevin De Bruyne were among those included in the Team of the Year.

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland’s 36 goals in a record-breaking debut Premier League season earned the Norwegian the PFA men's Players’ Player of the Year award on Tuesday night.
The striker, alongside stars from the Premier League and Women’s Super League, were honoured at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester at the PFA’s 50th anniversary ceremony.
Haaland joined City last summer and his goals helped fire Pep Guardiola’s side past Arsenal in the latter stages of the campaign to secure the club's third league title in a row.
The Gunners led Man City for the vast majority of the season, hugely helped by the efforts of 21-year-old Bukayo Saka, who was named PFA men's Young Player of the Year.
Saka featured in all 38 of Arsenal’s Premier League games under manager Mikel Arteta and contributed 15 goals and 11 assists.
Plenty of Haaland and Saka’s teammates were included in the Team of the Season which was dominated by Arsenal and Man City players.
Aaron Ramsdale claimed the No. 1 shirt, while his Arsenal team-mate William Saliba got a spot in defence alongside Man City pair John Stones and Ruben Dias.
Regular Newcastle United captain Kieran Trippier led the Magpies to Champions League qualification for the first time in 20 years and was the only Newcastle player to feature.
In midfield, Man City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri were included alongside Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard.
Saka was joined by Haaland in attack, as well as Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane who scored 30 times for Tottenham Hotspur last season before making his €100m move to Germany.
Aston Villa and England forward Rachel Daly was named PFA women's Players’ Player of the Year.
She scored 22 goals in as many games during a memorable WSL campaign, while Lionesses team-mate Lauren James was awarded Young Player of the Year.
