Liverpool moved to the top of the Premier League table with a 2-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening. Jurgen Klopp's side scored after just six minutes through Darwin Nunez, but had to wait until almost the end of the match when Diogo Jota settled things. Speaking after the game, Klopp questioned the decision to disallow Harvey Elliott's goal when the score was still 1-0.

Jurgen Klopp hit out at a "ridiculous” decision to rule out a goal from Liverpool forward Harvey Elliott in their 2-0 victory over Burnley on Tuesday evening.
Darwin Nunez opened the scoring at Turf Moor after just six minutes but the away side had to wait until Diogo Jota struck in the 90th minute to be able to relax.
Before then, though, Liverpool thought they were two in front when Elliott scored what Klopp thought was a legitimate goal, only to see VAR rule it out for an offside decision.
The result takes Liverpool two points clear of Arsenal, though the Londoners have a game in hand on the current league leaders.
Speaking to Amazon after the win, Klopp decried the decision from them match officials to wipe out Elliott’s effort.
He said: “Only someone who has never played football will make this an offside goal.
"But, they will tell us in the end that it is an offside situation - it is too often - he looked at it for five minutes. It is insane.
"That is a ridiculous decision."
Discussing the victory, Klopp praised his men for finding a way through to get the win in difficult circumstances.
“What is really the Liverpool way?” he asked. “It looks like we throw hurdles in front of us and then eventually find a way of coming over it. We played an incredible game and it was only 1-0. They could have scored an equaliser.
“Then with the most difficult situation of the game, Diogo Jota scores an incredible goal.
“Wataru Endo could have been player of the match. Without him the game might have been very strange.”
With the matches coming thick and fast over the festive period, Klopp was looking forward to what is now a relatively long rest before their next game against Newcastle on New Year’s Day.
He said: “We’re creating a lot of chances. It’s our fourth game in 10 days. We just have to get through it.
“We have five days between now and the next game which means we should maybe go on holiday.”
