Bournemouth coasted to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor to deepen the Clarets’ relegation fears and register their first win of the calendar year. Justin Kluivert scored against the run of play on 13 minutes after Dara O'Shea failed to deal with a long punt forwards, and Antoine Semenyo put the result beyond all doubt two minutes from time with a deflected effort.

Bournemouth coasted to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor to deepen the Clarets’ relegation fears.
Andoni Iraola’s Cherries arrived in Lancashire looking to put their surprise FA Cup exit at the hands of Leicester City behind them, and they duly did so in professional fashion, with Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo sealing all three points.
The result moves Bournemouth up to 13th in the table, but leaves Vincent Kompany’s hosts mired in the relegation zone, spared the bottom of the table only by their superior goal difference ahead of Sheffield United.
The Clarets are now 11 points adrift of safety, and defeat heaps further pressure on Kompany, whose side again dominated ball possession in this encounter with 75%, but were outdone and outthought on the counter-attack by a clinical Cherries side.
A hopeful long punt forward in the 13th minute had Dara O’Shea, the Burnley centre-back, in all sorts of trouble, and the onrushing Kluivert snatched the ball, driving a few yards with it before crashing an effort beyond the helpless James Trafford.
It was game, set, and match just two minutes from time as Semenyo doubled the visitors' advantage, with the ball nicely worked out to the right flank, where the Ghanaian cut inside onto his favoured left foot, and releasing a strike that, via a ricochet, found its way into the Burnley net to seal a first win of 2024 for Iraola’s Bournemouth.
