Tottenham have confirmed the signings of centre-back Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg and Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central.
The 22-year-old has signed a six-year deal with Ange Postecoglou's side after he arrived in London to complete his medical with the club earlier this week.
Van de Ven, who featured in all of the Netherlands’ group games at the U21 European Championships earlier this summer, was in attendance at Tottenham’s 5-1 pre-season win against Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday.
After rising through the youth system at FC Volendam, the defender joined Wolfsburg in the summer of 2021 making his first appearance for the club the following season.
He enjoyed a breakout season during the 2022-23 campaign, notably starting in 33 of Wolfsburg’s 34 league matches, helping Niko Kovac’s side finish eighth in the Bundesliga.
Later on Tuesday, Tottenham confirmed the signing of 19-year-old striker Veliz on a six-year contract. He will wear the number 36 shirt.
Veliz scored 11 goals in 23 appearances for Rosario during the 2023 season. He also scored three times for Argentina in this summer's U20 World Cup before they exited the competition in the round of 16 to Nigeria.
Postecoglou, who is also a newcomer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, has been working diligently to improve his squad, with the north London side having already acquired James Maddison in a £45m deal from Leicester, Dejan Kulusevski for £25m from Juventus and Manor Solomon on a free transfer from Shakhtar.
Tottenham have also signed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who joined on a £17m move from Empoli after former captain Hugo Lloris announced his intention to leave the club earlier this summer.
It comes as much uncertainty still remains over Harry Kane’s future at the club, with Bayern Munich set to continue their pursuit of the Spurs striker after the club rejected an £86m offer from the Bundesliga champions earlier this weekend.
