Fulham were reduced to ten men at the start of the second half after Heidar Helguson received his second yellow card, though Chris Coleman's side thought they had secured the three points with Vincenzo Montella's 84th minute penalty, only for Pascal Chimbonda to hit back with a late equaliser.
Fulham enjoyed the better of an uninspiring first half, and only a couple of reaction saves from Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson kept them from going in front before the break.
It was Dimitar Berbatov who was the first player to set pulses racing though, as he burst in behind the Fulham defence, though a moment's hesitancy allowed Liam Rosenior to make the challenge as the Bulgarian was lining up a shot.
But Fulham then took control, and Heidar Helguson missed a glorious chance on the half hour mark from 5 yards out with only Robinson to beat. He met Carlos Bocanegra's cross, though elected to flick the ball with his heel, allowing the goalkeeper to make the save.
McBride then fired in a decent effort on the turn after holding off Gardner, and the American missed a sitter on the stroke of half-time, firing straight at Robinson's large frame from Queudrue's fine cross.
Fulham were then reduced to ten men at the start of the second half as Heidar Helguson was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Tom Huddlestone, and despite throwing on winger Aaron Lennon, Spurs were unable to make their numerical advantage count.
Malbranque was kept well marshalled by Liam Rosenior on the left, while Berbatov faild to impose himself on the game, and after an ineffective 65 minutes of football, Jermain Defoe was replaced by Robbie Keane.
Just as the game seemed to be petering out into a rather tame draw, Fulham won a penalty for a deliberate handball in the area from Michael Dawson. The centre back threw himself in the way of McBride's goalbound shot, and as the ball ricocheted away off his arm, the referee wasted no time in pointing to the spot.
Vincenzo Montello stepped up, calmly sending Robinson the wrong way from the spot.
But there was still time for Spurs to hit back, and a free-kick from Huddlestone on the right worked its way through to Chimbonda at the back post, who fired a low shot past Jan Lastukova.
