Spanish radio broadcaster Cope said a "U.S. investment group" could agree on
the purchase of a 40 percent share of the club this week. Kraft reportedly is
leading the consortium aiming to buy the shares.
Kraft is the CEO and chairman of the Kraft Group, which also owns the MLS's
New England Revolution and the Boston franchise for esports' the Overwatch
League.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo said there is a battle for power at Sevilla,
and that over the past few months, there have been significant offers to buy
into the club. Offers for shares have reached more than $1,750 per share,
while the trading value a year ago was $70.
The reported offer from Kraft's group was not disclosed.
Kraft acquired the Patriots in 1994 for $175 million. On Wednesday, Forbes
released the list of the 50 most valuable sports franchises in the world. The
Patriots ranked No. 6 with an estimated value of $3.7 billion.
