The Best FIFA Women's Coach Award 2022 finalists have been revealed, and England head coach Sarina Wiegman is amongst them.
Wiegman, a two-time winner of the award, led the Lionesses to a maiden major trophy in July when they beat Germany 2-1 in the European Championship final at Wembley Stadium.
The Three Lions are unbeaten under Wiegman's 26-game stewardship, and the former Dutch player is up against Lyon manager Sonia Bompastor and Brazil’s Pia Sundhage for the award.
Bompastor delivered a Champions League and French League title in her first season as Lyon boss, and Sundhage guided Brazil to Copa America Feminina glory.
In the men’s category, Pep Guardiola has been nominated alongside Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Guardiola won a fourth Premier League title with Manchester City in 2022, while Scaloni famously led Argentina to their third World Cup in Qatar.
Ancelotti led Real Madrid to a Champions League and La Liga double last season, dominating the domestic league by 13 points and beating Liverpool in Paris to claim a 14th Champions League title for Los Blancos.
The Best FIFA awards recognise exceptional coaching performances across the men’s and women’s game from August 2021 to December 2022.
The women’s category had an initial shortlist of six coaches which was whittled down to three, with the men’s final list reduced from a five-man shortlist.
Votes from coaches, captains, journalists and fans decided the final three nominations for each category.
A ceremony will take place on February 27 to decide the winners.
