  • End of 2nd Half

FULL-TIME: Rangers put their fiercest rivals to the sword on the last game of the season at Ibrox, ending Celtic's 16-game unbeaten run in the process.

Two minutes will be added on here at Ibrox.

A third and final Rangers sub: Davis comes off to be replaced by McCrorie.

CLOSE! Kent is inches from the target with a shot from 25 yards out.

That was Celtic's first shot on target!

WHAT A CHANCE! Brilliant play from Edouard as he skips past a couple of challenges before rolling it on a plate to Burke, but with time and space to pick his spot, the Celtic midfielder produces a tame shot straight at Foderingham.

Arfield, a Man of the Match contender, is given a standing ovation as he makes way for Candeias.

Morelos replaces Defoe in the Rangers attack. The last time the Colombian played against Celtic, he was shown a straight red for an off-the-ball foul on Brown.

Every pass is being greeted with 'ole' from the home supporters. A third goal would really put the gloss on an impressive display from Gerrard's side.

OFF THE POST! Defoe, who is about to be replaced by Morelos, nearly caps a fine performance with a goal, hitting the post with a header.

BOOKING! Kent is too quick for Ajer, who mistimes his tackle and receives a yellow card. Rangers cannot make anything of the resulting free-kick from the right channel.

  • Jonathan Hayes

Such a lacklustre performance won't do anything for Lennon's hopes of getting the Celtic job permanently. They have been second-best all over the park.

Celtic's third and final change sees Olivier Ntcham replacing Rogic.

SHOT! Tavenier's free-kick finds a hole between the Celtic wall but Bain watches it all the way and makes a comfortable save.

Kent is fouled on the edge of the penalty area by Brown and Rangers are in a great position to make this three...

The game has passed too many of Celtic's players by. With a cup final against Hearts coming up, is their focus elsewhere?

The scoreline now reflects Rangers' dominance. They are on course for winning back-to-back league games against Celtic for the first time in nine years!

  • Scott Arfield
GoalScott ArfieldRangersGOAL! Rangers 2-0 Celtic: A fine team goal puts the game beyond the champions! It's a fantastic drive forward from Kamara, he plays it to Defoe who dummies it and the ball runs through to Arfield. He takes a touch and fully-stretched, pokes it beyond Bain.

Celtic defend two successive corners but Rangers have yet another... it comes to nothing. Meanwhile, Celtic are preparing a change.

Rangers have picked the intensity up again and they force another corner. Kent to take...

The ball is fed into the feet of Kent, he has so much time and space, but tries to find Arfield with an ambitious back-heel and it's intercepted.

Rangers have all the big men from the back forward to contest a free-kick delivery, but this time Tavenier gets it horribly wrong, curling it over the bar and out of play.

Celtic have conceded only TWO goals in their last 11 matches - and Rangers have scored both of them!

Kent tries to pick out Arfield with an ambitious killer pass but there's just too much zip on the ball and it rolls harmlessly through to Bain.

Just having a second look at Flanagan's unsavoury incident with Brown and the Rangers defender is perhaps fortunate not to have seen red for lashing out like that.

OVER! McGregor's corner delivery is deep, finding Edourard at the far post, but he cannot keep his header down.

BOOKING! Before the corner can be taken, Flanagan pushes his forearm into Brown, who goes down holding his face! The Rangers defender goes into the referee's book. Is he a lucky boy?

Some encouragement for the small section of away supporters, as Burke gets down the right and forces a corner.

Rangers are content with sitting deep and pick their moments to break.

A scrappy start to the second-half. Neither side able to keep a hold of the ball. Celtic have been playing in first-gear all afternoon but it's up to them to take the game to Rangers now.

  • 2nd Half

The second period is underway. Celtic have replaced injured Lustig with Jeremy Toljan.

  • End of 1st Half

HALF-TIME: Goldson's header is over the bar, as Rangers finish the half on top, and there's the half-time whistle. It's Rangers 1-0 Celtic at the break.

INJURY! Another blow for Celtic as Lustig is forced off with an injury and he heads up the tunnel before the break.

CHANCE! Defoe's lovely knock-down is latched onto by Kent. He drives at the heart of the Celtic defence, threading a through-ball to Arfield, but Bain is off his line quickly to make an important block.

James Tavernier of Rangers celebrates scoring the opening goal

Small indications towards the end of the first-half that Celtic are growing into the contest. McGregor whips in another corner but again it's Katic who makes a crucial intervention.

Is Lennon's team selection to blame for this lacklustre Celtic first-half performance? Will he change things up at the break?

More pushing and shoving, this time in the Rangers penalty area as Celtic prepare to take a corner. McGregor floats it in but it falls kindly for Katic to clear it.

Celtic forward Edouard has virtually been a spectator today and his frustrations are threatening to boil over. There's a bit of pushing and shoving with Goldson before the referee intervenes.

SHOT! Arfield receives a pass from Davis and his first touch is delightful, setting him up for the shot. Unfortunately his second touch sees the midfielder dragging a schoolboy-like effort well wide of goal.

Burke is too quick for Davis who in turn brings him down on the flank. McGregor takes the subsequent free-kick but he gets too much pace on the ball. Poor. Rangers have a goal-kick.

Kent stands up a cross to the far post but it's comfortable for Bain who catches with ease.

Rangers have another free-kick, which Tavenier whips to the far post, but Brown rises highest to head behind for another corner for the hosts.

Rangers try a clever short corner routine right off the training ground, but Arfield plays too much zip on his pass and it's out of play for a goal-kick.

Flanagan exchanges passes with Jack and then forces a corner. All the big men are up to contest the delivery...

Things aren't going Defoe's way. He is told to get up after a coming together with Simunovic.

Defoe makes a clever run off the shoulder of his marker but he's flagged offside. Ibrox fumes.

Arfield commits a late tackle on Brown from behind. It's naughty. Kevin Clancy comes over to have a word with the Rangers midfielder.

NO PENALTY! There is little to no contact on Defoe, but the veteran forward throws himself into the air, giving the referee a decision to make. No penalty is the decision. Defoe stays down and is receiving treatment, but I think he's fortunate not to be booked for his ridiculous theatrics.

Down at the opposite end, where Burke - making a rare start - is trying to make an impression, the Celtic midfielder shoots miles over the bar from 25 yards or so.

SHOT! A huge cheer greets Brown's misplaced pass in midfield, and Rangers bomb forward in numbers. It's played to Defoe, who creates space for a shot, but it's straight down the middle for Bain to gather on the second attempt.

Hayes has the ball on the opposite flank now, but his cross is overcooked and Rangers have a goal-kick. Lennon stands on the touchline with a perplexed expression.

Celtic are growing into the contest now. A fine team move sees the ball switched to Burke whose low searching cross is hacked to safety.

After a frantic start, Celtic are finally enjoying some possession, intent on killing the Rangers momentum.

Jack unlocks the Celtic defence with a lovely through-ball to Defoe, but the Rangers forward makes his run too early and is spotted a few yards offside.

Rangers continue to press for the second, they're probing in and around the Celtic half. The visitors haven't started.

Spotting the run of Defoe, Tavenier bends another delightful cross into the box, but Bain is off his line quickly to smother it.

This time, however, Tavenier fails to beat the first man with his cross.

Tavenier is dragged down by Hayes on the right and Rangers have another free-kick in a promising area.

Captain fantastic, Tavenier has now scored 17 goals this season! Not bad for a full-back, eh?

  • James Tavernier
GoalJames TavernierRangersGOAL! Rangers 1-0 Celtic: What a start!!! Tavenier curls a sumptuous cross full of pace into the danger zone, no one can get on the end of it and it drops in at the far post! Bain was rooted to the spot!

Industrious work from Kent as he robs Johnston and then wins a free-kick on the left flank.

KICK-OFF! A raucous atmosphere, as you would expect, at Ibrox as the game gets underway. There is nothing to play for in terms of league standings, but there is always plenty to play for in the Old Firm.

FIVE MINUTE WARNING: A reminder of today's line-ups as we approach kick-off at Ibrox... Rangers: Foderingham, Tavernier, Goldson, Katic, Flanagan, Jack, Kamara, Davis, Arfield, Kent, Defoe. /// Celtic: Bain, Lustig, Simunovic, Ajer, Hayes, Brown, McGregor, Burke, Rogic, Johnston, Edouard.

KEY MAN: Jermain Defoe, starting ahead of topscorer Morelos, has four goals and an assist in his last seven appearances, helping Rangers to five consecutive victories.

Jermain Defoe scored his sixth goal for Rangers

PRE-MATCH STATS: Rangers are aiming for back-to-back home league wins over Celtic for the first time since March 2012. Celtic have won nine of the last 12 Old Firm derbies in the Premiership.

Has Gerrard's first term in charge of the Gers been a success? Well, if he can guide them to victory today they will have beaten Celtic for the second time this season - and close the gap between the clubs to six points. Rangers already have five points more than they finished with back in 2017/18.

Twelve points separated the fierce rivals last season - the same tally Celtic would open with a victory today.

Much of the pre-match focus has centred on the fact that Rangers are refusing to form a guard of honour for champions Celtic. Hoops boss Lennon claimed that 'we'd have done it for them' - it's all a bit childish, really. Steven Gerrard is remaining hush on his club's stance. "The club have made a decision on that and decided there won't be a guard of honour, so my thoughts are irrelevant. I will follow what I'm told to do by the people in charge of the club."

Starting XI: Bain, Lustig, Simunovic, Ajer, Hayes, Brown, McGregor, Burke, Rogic, Johnston, Edouard.

Subs: Toljan, Bitton, Sinclair, Ntcham, De Vries, Benkovic, Ralston.

Neil Lennon makes three changes to the Celtic starting XI that won the title at Aberdeen last weekend. Jonny Hayes replaces the injured Kieran Tierney, while wingers Oliver Burke and Mikey Johnston come into the fold.

Starting XI: Foderingham, Tavernier, Goldson, Katic, Flanagan, Jack, Kamara, Davis, Arfield, Kent, Defoe.

Subs: Firth, Worrall, Halliday, McCrorie, Morelos, Candeias, Barisic.

Jermain Defoe continues to lead the line, despite topscorer Alfredo Morelos being available for selection following his straight red against Celtic last month. In between the sticks, Wes Foderingham replaces the suspended Allan McGregor.

Hello and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE text commentary of the Old Firm clash between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox.

We will be focusing on the Premier League finale later but one of the most fiercely contested derbies in world football isn't a bad place to start, eh?

In this penultimate league fixture, Neil Lennon's side already have the title secured while Rangers are guaranteed second, but there's still plenty of pride at stake.

Kick-off is 45 minutes away. Team news to follow next.
