Gargano joins Napoli

Uruguayan midfielder Walter Gargano has joined Napoli from Danubio. The 22-year-old joins the newly-promoted side on a five-year contract and joked that he "will again have the chance to wear the light blue shirt," his national team colours.

"Besides the joke, I am really happy for this chance to play at Napoli because there had been many weeks of negotiations and at times I thought that they were going to fail," he continued.
"But now I have been told that everything has been arranged I will be preparing everything to travel to Italy with a big hope to play in Serie A."
Gargano joins teenage Slovakia midfielder Marek Hamsic, who signed for 5.5 million euros from Brescia, and Ezequiel Lavezzi, a young Argentina international striker who signed a five-year deal from San Lorenzo.
