Perrotta signs until 2010

AS Roma received a boost on Monday, when Italian midfielder Simone Perrotta signed a new two-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2010.

Perrotta, who was actually born in England before moving to Italy as a six-year old, joined Roma from Chievo Verona in 2004, and has since played 66 Serie A games for the Giallorossi.

Perrotta, who has also played for AS Bari, Juventus and Reggina, has 31 caps for Italy and was a member of their world cup winning squad.

The 28 year-old should feature in Roma's opening Group D Champions League match with Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
