Swedish striker Goran Slavkovski has signed a new contract to keep him at Internazionale until 2010.
The highly-rated 17-year-old was being tracked closely by a number of top European clubs, including Manchester United, while he mulled over the contract offer from Inter, though the new deal is now likely to put an end to speculation he could move away from the Giuseppe Meazza.
"We are very happy," his agent Jozo Palac said. "The fact that they gave him a long-term contract proves they are sure of his qualities."
Slavkovski, who has Macedonian origins, has represented Sweden at every level from under-15 to under-19, though the Macedonian football association is still keen for him to choose to represent their country at senior level.
The Macedonian minister for sport, Ivica Georgievski, even travelled to Milan for dinner with the player and his agent in an attempt to persuade him to play for them, though Palac insisted nothing has been decided yet.
"Goran will decide that himself when he turns 18 in April," he said.
"It's my duty as an agent to meet with these people, they have shown interest so I sit down and talk with them."
