Boyhood Torino fan Federico Gatti and Arkadiusz Milik were the goalscorers as Juventus triumphed in the Turin derby on Saturday. Juve defeated Torino 2-0 in what proved to be a fairly comfortable victory in the end after a very underwhelming first half of the match. The goals from Gatti and Milik were timely and both from corner kicks as the hosts found a way to come through the challenge.

Juventus twice scored from corners early in the second half to continue their dominance over Torino in the Derby della Mole.
After a drab first half, the Bianconeri took the lead through boyhood Torino fan Federico Gatti, who nudged home after Vanja Milinkovic-Savic failed to claim Filip Kostic's corner two minutes after the second half. Initially, it was ruled offside but after a lengthy deliberation, the goal stood.
Just after the hour mark, the score was doubled when Arkadiusz Milik beat the Torino goalkeeper to the ball and headed home.
Incredibly, Torino almost conceded a third goal minutes later through the same source when Gatti beat Milinkovic-Savic to a corner but headed over.
The win lifts Juventus up to third in the Serie A table ahead of Sunday's games. Torino slip to 12th.

Talking point - Thank goodness for set pieces

It is very uncertain whether Juventus would have scored without them.
The team news from both sides could not have been worse heading into the match for the neutral. Dusan Vlahovic's back injury did not allow him to come back into the side and Federico Chiesa has been cruelled once again, this time with a muscular injury one would hope is not serious.
As for Torino, a personality clash between their most dangerous forward Nemanja Radonjic and coach Ivan Juric meant the visitors posed less of a threat. In fairness they came back from the second half looking extremely purposefully, but it was their ability to execute corners - and more pertinently Vanja Milinkovic-Savic's hapless goalkeeping from them - which ensured they did not slip up at home after the dullest of first halves.

Player of the match - Filip Kostic (Juventus)

The Serbian midfielder was a rare shining light in the morass of creativity which was the first half. In the second half it was his sublime delivery from dead balls which finally saw Juventus pose a threat and ultimately breach the Torino goal, twice.

67' AGAIN THE TORINO KEEPER SECOND TO A CORNER! Almost a carbon copy of Milik's goal, but this time Gatti beats Milinkovic-Savic's diving fist, but hits over the bar.
