The Rangers saga continues in Wednesday's papers as the Daily Record reports that police are closing in on club owner Craig Whyte.

CID officers are to go over documents provided by the administrators that relate to Whyte's deal with Ticketus - which guaranteed the firm rights to future ticket sales in return for a loan - looking for evidence of wrongdoing.
The paper's report adds that the legality of Whyte's original deal with previous club chief Sir David Murray, the £24.4 million Whyte scooped from his deal with Ticketus and the £15m in unpaid PAYE and VAT bills are all to be put under the microscope.
And according to the paper's source, a prosecution could be on the cards: "It's up to the Crown Office to decide whether the police have amassed sufficient evidence in order to allow prosecutions," the source said. "But the net is clearly tightening."
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini slates the standard of medical screening in the Premier League in The Independent, with the Italian boss feeling that players get inadequate medical screening for the type of heart defect that saw Bolton's Fabrice Muamba collapse on the pitch on Saturday.
"We need to improve the medicals for the players. We need to screen the players often, maybe two times a year, and more accurately," the Italian said.
"When I first saw our medicals two years ago, I was really worried. I said we need to do better in our medicals. It is not only after (Muamba's collapse on Saturday) but always. It is impossible that a young guy can die on the pitch because he didn't do a proper, accurate medical.
"I want all players to have more accurate medicals, not just once a year, but every six months. We do that in Italy and the medicals are really accurate. It is really important. What happened with Muamba and with other players in the past can't happen.
"In 2012, it can't happen that something happens to a player like happened on Saturday, it is impossible. This guy is 23. I hope that it will go very well for him and I pray for him because this (situation) is impossible."
Several papers concentrate on the improvement in Muamba's condition, with The Sun's front page leading on the news that the player asked his dad if Bolton had lost the FA Cup tie against Tottenham - and asked why they stopped the game on being told that the match had been abandoned.
The Daily Mail focuses on news that it is possible Muamba could yet make a full recovery despite his heart having failed to beat unaided for two hours, while the Daily Mirror's back page carries the words of the Bolton star's dad asking his team-mates to "go out and play for Fabrice".

Manchester City's match against Chelsea on Wednesday night dominates many of the back pages, with Roberto Mancini's slightly rash prediction of title success ("We WILL win the league") splashed all over the Mirror, Times and Guardian.
The Sun's back page takes a slightly different lead, with the news that Carlos Tevez has been deemed "perfect" by Mancini following his return to the fold at Eastlands - all under the headline "Ten out of Tev".
Elsewhere, the Mail reports that Robin van Persie has given the "clearest hint yet" that he will stay at Arsenal, on the basis that he has been talking about the side's need to show their character "over a period of a whole year" rather than just in stints of a few weeks at a time.
The Mail also claims that Chelsea have been warned off making an approach for Borussia Dortmund manager Juergen Klopp, who was tipped as a potential boss at Stamford Bridge if Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho turn down the post.

The Daily Star claims Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish will offload Charles N'Zogbia - with whom he has had a public row over the player's excess love of bling and fast cars - as part of a swap deal this summer to bring Montpellier's £15m-rated striker Olivier Giroud to Villa Park.
Blackburn boss Steve Kean still wants to sign free agent Bolo Zenden despite being unable to agree a deal with the 35-year-old during a recent trial (Daily Mirror), Arsenal are considering a summer move for Toulouse defender Aymen Abdennour (The Sun) while fired Chelsea prospect Jacob Mellis - given the boot for letting off a smoke grenade at the Blues' training ground - is likely to join Burnley (Daily Mail).
