Liverpool have announced that Sven-Goran Eriksson will be part of the management team for a legends charity match against Ajax.
Eriksson, who managed England from 2001 to 2006, revealed in January that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and had "best case a year" to live.
While discussing his illness during media interviews, the 76-year-old also touched on his love for Liverpool and his ambition to manage the team.
Eriksson will now sit in the dugout for the charity game between LFC Legends and Ajax Legends at Anfield on March 23.
"The former England boss will join a dugout of LFC greats, including Ian Rush, John Barnes and John Aldridge, for the annual LFC Foundation charity match," a statement from Liverpool said.
"All connected with the club and LFC Foundation look forward to warmly welcoming LFC fan Sven and his family to Anfield – and seeing him in the dugout on the day – for a fantastic fundraising occasion."
Jerzy Dudek, Martin Skrtel and Djibril Cisse are among the players set to represent Liverpool, while Ryan Babel will feature for both sides.
Previous legends matches organised by Liverpool have raised £1.45 million for the club's charities.
During a successful managerial career, Eriksson won 18 titles at a number of domestic teams in Sweden, Portugal, and Italy.
He took England to the quarter-finals of the 2002 and 2006 World Cups, and also had stints at the helm of Mexico, Ivory Coast and the Philippines.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp previously described Eriksson’s love for the club as "very touching".
"I heard for the first time about his admiration or love for Liverpool and that he was a fan for his whole life," he said.
"I heard now about the Legends [game] and stuff like that. I'm not in charge of that. The only thing I can say is absolutely he's very welcome to come here and he can sit in my seat in my office and do my job for a day if he wants. That's no problem."
For now, Liverpool will be focusing on their next Premier League match against Brentford, which will be broadcast live on TNT Sports on Saturday, February 17.
