Amad Diallo emerged from the bench to score a last-minute winner as Manchester United beat Liverpool 4-3 after extra time in an FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford. Liverpool had looked set to make the last four when a Harvey Elliot effort gave them the lead in extra time. However, strikes from Marcus Rashford and then Amad ensured United progressed.

Amad Diallo struck a last-gasp extra-time winner and was then sent off as Manchester United booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals following a rollercoaster 4-3 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils were quick out of the traps and deservedly led on 10 minutes when Scott McTominay stabbed home a rebound after Caoimhin Kelleher had parried Alejandro Garnacho’s shot.
McTominay then saw a big chance to extend United’s advantage go begging when he fired straight at Kelleher from 12 yards out before a quick-fire double on the stroke of half-time saw the Merseysiders turn the tie on its head.
First Alexis Mac Allister hammered a deflected shot beyond Andre Onana at his near post and then Mohamed Salah smashed in after the United keeper could only tip Darwin Nunez’s shot into his path.
Liverpool dominated for the majority of the second half but failed to find a third goal and the home side made them pay four minutes from time when substitute Antony turned inside the area and rolled a fine finish into the far corner.
Marcus Rashford then shot wide with the last kick of normal time and Liverpool appeared to make the most of the reprieve when substitute Harvey Elliott rifled a speculative 25-yard shot beyond Onana via a deflection on 105 minutes.
United refused to lie down, however, and Rashford pulled the hosts level eight minutes from the end before another substitute, Amad, won an epic, enthralling cup tie in the last seconds before picking up a second yellow for his wild celebrations.
The Red Devils will now meet Coventry City in the semi final at Wembley.

Ten Hag talked about this cup clash with high-flying Liverpool as one that could help salvage their season – and possibly be some sort of catalyst to keep him in a job long-term.
It started perfectly for the hosts but then appeared to be swinging out of their clutches as Liverpool twice found themselves in winning positions.
However, United refused to throw in the towel and somehow came out on top in an instant-classic cup tie that will linger long in the memory.
Liverpool will see it as a missed opportunity in the Jurgen Klopp farewell tour, but they remain in the hunt on three fronts and will now need to go again when they return after the international break, with more key stars set to return from injury.
